A cold day on a nice new pitch produced an end to end hard game against a physical Ross side.

Man of the match Simon Clarke scored from our first short corner to settle us down & DP added a 2nd from Tony Moules pass, but Ross scored a deserved goal. Clarke scored our second short for 3 – 1 at h/t.

Lansdown got the crucial next goal, Clarke broke up an attack and raced out of defence then found Tony Moule with a pin point pass, his cross led to Dan O Sullivan scoring after making up a lot of ground. DP scored again after another Moule run, and Paul Williams crashed in a short corner.

Ross never gave up and scored two quick goals after things got a bit heated (and our bearded defender had gone up front to keep out of trouble), but the returning Pete Holdaway, who had a fine game, released Moule, his shot was saved but DP scored the rebound to make the final score 7 – 3.

With 2nd placed Winchcombe dropping points, the 3rds now are 1 point behind and they play each other on Valentines Day…
