Sunday 19th October

Lost 4 – 1

This week Lansdown vixens played host to Cheltenham at Bournside school.

Building on their win from last week Lansdown started the game moving the ball around with great confidence. Cheltenham soon got into their stride making smooth swift passes which resulted in the first goal. Not to be outdone Lansdown bounced back straightaway with some lovely through balls from Liddy Ellis in midfield to Claire Moliver who put a lovely ball in across the face of the goal to set up Holly Wright to slot the ball into the goal from the far post.

Lansdown’s defence soaked up the pressure defending numerous short corners which Cheltenham could not convert. It went to half time with Cheltenham 2-1 up.

The second half was played with as much spirit and enthusiasm from both teams as the first. Cheltenham’s man of the match Helen Gregory made some powerful runs from defence helping her team to score 2 more goals. There was some great team work from Lansdown helping to get the ball out of defence with some great moves down the right and left hand sides of the pitch.

Special congratulations to Liddy Ellis who was chosen as the player of the match by the Cheltenham players.

The Vixens team will come up against Cirencester next on Sunday 16th November at 11am, Deer Park School.
