Saturday 18th October, Kingham Hill School

Lost 2-0

The Lansdown Ladies 3rd IX travelled to Kingham Hill school in search of their first league points of the season. A shaky start from the Lansdown defence saw a Bourton player slot the ball into the goal within the first 5 minutes.

However man of the match Karen Holdaway pulled the defence together and Lansdown began to improve their play. Hannah Milsom led a number of attacks through the midfield and a great attacking play from Hannah Drew and George Wintle saw them nearly break through the Bourton defence. At half time Lansdown were 1-0 down and the game was still within their grasp.

It looked like the Lansdown ladies 3rd IX luck was changing in the second half. The team came out confident and continued to pressurise with some attacking plays. Lansdown almost equalized when a ball sent through to debutant Charly Byatt went merely inches outside the goal post.

Bourton soon released a number of counter attacks and a strike from the top of the Dee took them 2-0 in front. The Lansdown side continued to pressurise the Bourton defence and the play was much improved from previous weeks, with a number of younger players making their debut in the 3rd team but Bourton managed to hold onto their 2-0 victory.

Lansdown 3rd IX play Shipton Olliffe next weekend a team they have played frequently in the past and the ladies will be hoping to pick up some points at St Edwards School at 11.00am.
