Mens 1st XI 0 Wotton Under Edge 4 Sunday, October 12, 2008

Posted by Steve Vickery in Cheltenham Hockey, Match Report, Mens 1st XI.

Lansdown slipped to a disappointing home defeat at the hands of Wotton Under Edge. Lansdown failed to learn from the previous week’s poor performance against Cardiff Medics, giving the ball away cheeply and making to many rash challenges in their own 25, which resulted in Wotton being awarded numerous short corners. Wotton scored two goals in each half, scoring three from well excuted short corner routines and another from open play. The commitment level of the Lansdown team as always was high. However technical and tactical elements of the game were poor, and will need to be improved before promotion can be considered a realistic aim. Thanks go to the spectators who came along to cheer us on.
