trackback

A resounding victory against weak opposition. Lansdown started strongly with Seb Bradshaw and Andy Allen linking well and taking the game to the opposition. Lansdown forced several short corners and opened the scoring through Dave Holdaway’s strike following an initial save by the keeper. Lansdown added a second from Seb Bradshaw and a third when Ollie Bolwell came on and continued the good attacking play up front. Unfortunately we conceded a goal from a short corner strike to make it 3 – 1 despite the defence playing well with the experience of Mark & Paul Williams combining with the youth of Duncan Spurier and Andy Hockley. Wotton were limited to very few scoring opportunities giving Niall a very quiet game in goal. Lansdown added a fourth before half time when Andy Allen put Dave Holdaway through to slot past the advancing keeper. Ollie Bolwell narrowly missed following an excellent run and strike which beat the keeper. The second half continued in the same vein Seb Bradshaw scored his second with a powerful strike into the roof of the net, from the edge of the circle. Dave Holdaway completed his hat trick with a poacher’s strike nicking the ball of the defender on the goal line. Ian Matthews scored from a well struck short corner. Lansdown put numerous crosses accross the face of the goal, particularly from Anil Patel but we guilty of attacking in a flat line, at times, and not having a player in , on the keeper.  Dave Holdaway scored his fourth diving in at the far post following a good run and pass from Seb. Many thanks to Paul Bickell and DP for umpiring, a good natured match.
