Ladies 1’s 5 – Salisbury 3 Saturday, February 23, 2008

A hat trick from Kim Pullen and two well deserved goals from Hannah Moon saw the ladies 1’s continue their unbeaten record with a 5-3 win against bottom of the table Salisbury. With three of the defenders of the earth unavailable and new players in the team the nerves were settled when Kim Pullen opened the scoring after 12 minutes. But Salisbury didn’t allow us to have it all our own way and hit back by converting a short corner to make it one a piece. A change up front with Fran Ripley and Jo Walker coming into the attack created a chance for Hannah Moon to get her first of the game. We continued to press and Kim scored her second just before half time.

The second half saw Kim complete her hat trick with a low drag flick that seemed to fool everyone and a fabulous individual goal from Moonie who calmly rounded the keeper and slipped the ball into the back of the goal. Salisbury scored two late goals which just proves we need to keep up the tempo until the very last whistle. Well done everyone and thank you to all the support we had on the side line – it was very much appreciated.
