Another fine performance at home against local rivals Gloucester saw the ladies 1’s take the three points and go joint top of West Premier One. The team pressed from the start and created several opportunities. The first goal came from a short corner which saw Ammo deflect the ball into the roof of the net. Gloucester pushed for an equaliser but the midfield and defence held strong with keeper Kels only needing to make a couple of saves. The second goal came before half time with Helen Wicks finishing. The second half continued as the first with Lansdown exerting early pressure on the Gloucester defence and were rewarded with several short corners but were unable to convert. Gloucester tried to pull the game back and had a couple of short corners themselves but failed to test the Lansdown defence. It was a good win for the team and puts us joint top with Bath Buccs. Thanks to all those who came to support us, we are at home again next week (2pm Bournside) against ISCA so we hope to see you again.
