Lansdown suffered their first defeat of the season on Saturday. A positive start from the 3rdXI saw opportunities opening up but the Lansdown forwards were unable to convert them. A near miss from a short corner strike from Sara Thompson raised the game but Bourton weren’t going to give way easily. Then disaster struck, Bourton broke through the steely Lansdown defence to score against the run of play. 1-0 down at half time was not a situation Lansdown are used to, so some stern but encouraging words were issued. The second half was dominated by attacking play by Lansdown but once again Bourton managed to score despite the valiant efforts of the Lansdown defence Hannah Drew, (man of the match), Justine Segar, Elaine Higgins and Nicky Ellis. An unfortunate win but a lesson to learn.
