The third league game of the season saw another unlucky defeat for the Ladies 2s. We started off well retaining the majority of the play in the first half with Susie Francis converting a well set up goal by Angela Varley and Hayley Whitehouse. EG were quick to fight back and scored two goals off penalty corners which the defence really had no chance with. Lansdown’s second goal came from some great passing in the midfield from Sam Hook, Gill Russ and Lisa Nightingale who set Susie up for her second.
It was great to see the defence working well as a team with some brilliant marking from Kelly Farr, Sally Privett and Lorna Dymock, who really didn’t appear as if she’d just come back from a golfing holiday!
Unfortunately, through all of our efforts, it still wasn’t enough to stop a lucky break from EG which led to the final score being 3-2. Players of the match went to Lisa, Sam and Sally – although a loss, a real team effort. Well done girls!
