This week saw the Ladies 2’s away at Devizes, which has always been a tough fixture for us.

The first half saw Lansdown playing some excellent hockey with Kate Houston and Sam Hook teaming up well to out play the Devizes Midfield. We had lots of chances with 90% of the play in the Lansdown attacking half, unfortunately Lansdown were unable to capitalise on all their chances and Devizes managed to score just before half time with one of their first chances of the game.

The second half saw Devizes come out stronger than Lansdown and they had plenty of chances early in the second half, including a penalty stroke which was well saved by Carly Williams (Bonnet). Lansdown had some great chances as well with some fantastic runs by Hayley Whitehouse, but unfortunately the forwards we’re unable to find the back of the net.

As the game was drawing to a close Lansdown were awarded a penalty corner with just 4 seconds left on the clock. The ball was sent to the top of the circle where Sam Hook slipped the ball to the left where Cally Pollard shot first time sending the ball into the corner of the goal. Final score 1-1.

A hard fought game and a point well won, well done everyone, especially Cally Pollard who won man of the match. Thank you to Hannah Skinner for all her support on the side line!
