We always knew this was going to be a tough game against struggling Cheltenham as they needed the three points to secure their place in West Premier One next season. We started brightly and had much of the play in the first 15 minutes but clear cut chances were few and far between. We finally opened the scoring from a short corner that saw Hannah Lloyd calmly slip the ball past the Cheltenham goalkeeper. Cheltenham responded but the Lasndown defence of Julia, Hannah, Ports, Kelly and Stowey kept them out. The half ended 1 – 0 to Lansdown.

The second half became alot more scrappy, with much of the play taking place in the midfield. Nina, Wixy and Moonie worked really hard in the middle with good support from Alice and Lloydy to try and get the second goal, but the few chances we had lacked the clinical finishing we have seen in previous games. Cheltenham continued to apply sporadic pressure and were rewarded with a string of short corners, one of which they converted to equalise.

Both teams pressed for the winner but were unsuccessful so the score ended 1 -1. This leaves us in fifth place with a game in hand so a fourth place finish is a real possibility. Thanks again to everyone who came to watch. It is great to have your support.
