The seconds took all three points away to Bridgend, in a hard fought match which could have gone either way.We started slowly, having lost some confidence following the previous weeks shock defeat to Aberystwyth. Fortunately we had the versatile Dave Jones in goal to thank for keeping the score goalless at half time. He produced a stunning diving save from a penalty flick( well done to Nick Fairburn for saving the original goal bound shot) and several other quality saves. We did threaten ourselves with Jon Thompson and Andy Allen forcing several saves from the keeper and the ball appeared to have crossed the line for a goal, following good work by Darren Ashenhurst, but the umpire was unsighted. The second half saw us improve our work rate and team play. We were rewarded with a fine goal from the ever powerful Jon Thompson who found the far corner past the advancing keeper. We then came close to increasing the lead with Jon forcing several saves and Andy narrowly clearing the bar with the keeper beaten. Bridgend then threw everything at us, as the rain poured down in the final quarter. However some superb tackling and marking from Mark Evetts, Rich Fear, Sid Ellis and TP coupled with further outstanding saves from Man of the Match Dave Jones  kept the score intact. We remain second in the league and next face a tough home match against Cardiff, who are just behind us with games in hand.
