Saturday 3rd February

A closely contested match that ended in a fair result. We travelled to Thornbury in the knowledge that this would be one of our hardest matches of the season. With only a certain amount of our normal squad avaliable I would like to thank those who played for us in this match. Wotton started all guns blazing, by half time we were 1-0 down, after having a goal disallowed and our share of chances. We managed to pull this back to 1-1, soon after the restart, with a goal from Jane Tilley. Wotton’s determination started to waver as we took more control, Jess Alderidge (on her debut for us) scoring our second goal after being set up by Sara Thompson. Wotton fought back increasing the pressure on our defence and unfortunately pulled the game back to a draw. The last 5 minutes of the game were tense with Fiona Mitchell (GK) finally getting a work out and making some great saves.

Man of the Match went to Maxine Reeves for her outstanding performance at Centre Back.

Thank you to Bob (and Chris – for letting him out) for umpiring for us.

Still unbeaten!!
