The ladies first XI travelled to top of the table Taunton for their first outdoor game of 2007. We started brightly but Taunton had several early attacks that kept the defence on their toes. It was Lansdown who opened the scoring after 10 minutes with a clinical strike from Nina Powell from a short corner. We pushed on to try and extend the lead but Taunton broke down the right and the cross was deflected in. This didn’t deter us and we pressured the Taunton defence and were awarded a second short corner. A well worked routine saw Hannah Lloyd put the ball into the back of the net. The half time score was 2-1 to Lansdown.

At the restart Taunton continued to pressure the Lansdown midfield and defence but some outstanding work from everyone kept Taunton out. There was an unfortunate period in the second half when Stowey was yellow carded but this didn’t faze us and we kept our shape and more importantly kept the score line 2-1. We continued to pressure and were awarded with a great team goal. Ammo finally putting the ball in the back of the net. Well done girls – we deserved that win. Final score 3 – 1 to Lansdown.
