Another three points with a 2 – 1 win over Redland sees the first XI climb to 5th in the table. Lansdown started strong and opened up the scoring after 15 minutes when Emma Pullon had just the keeper to beat after a defence splitting ball by Nina Powell. Redland fought back but the Lansdown defence held strong with keeper Kelly making some excellent saves. Lansdown continued to pressure the Redland goal but were unable to capitilise and Redland managed to score an equaliser just before half time. The second half continued as the first with Lansdown keeping the pressure on the Redland defence and were awarded their second goal when a shot from Helen Wicks was deflected into the goal by Becky Mawby. Redland tried to get the equaliser but the Lansdown midfield and defence held firm. Well done team, another three excellent points. Let’s make it four wins in a row away at Gloucester on Saturday! Thanks also to all our supporters today, you certainly make a difference.
