trackback

Lansdown enjoyed an emphatic victory despite travelling the long distance with a depleted side. Lansdown were lethal up front with Jon Thompson & Andy Allen tearing the defence apart. However during the first half Lansdown had to defend well with Tim Postlethwaite, Phil Sidey & Rich Fear marking tightly & tackling well. Keeper Colin Harwood also made several important saves & this was Lansdown’s first clean sheet of the season. The impressive Dave Jones at sweeper kept the midfield & forward line well supplied. Lansdown scored midway through the half when Thompson swept in the first of his six goals following a strong run & cross by Mark Williams.

The second half was one way traffic as the confidence drained from the opposition, Thompson added a further five with some superb finishing and the other goal came from Mark Williams. Lansdown played well as a team with the goals coming as a result of good passing & movement off the ball.

Thanks,

Dave Holdaway.
