The ladies first XI won their first game of the season with a 1 – 0 win over Bath Buccs. It wasn’t all plain sailing though. Bath pressed hard from the whistle and won several short corners in quick succession. But some fine goalkeeping and goal line clearances from Stowey, Alice and Julia, kept Bath out. The only goal of the game came after 20 minutes when Lansdown won a free hit out wide on the edge of the circle. It was from this that the ball was deflected by Becky through the Bath keepers legs for Moonie to score. The second half saw goalkeeper Kelly save a penalty stroke, an Emma Pullon reverse stick strike disallowed and numerous other interesting decisions by the umpires but Lansdown kept their cool and came away with the three points. A superb squad performance again, well done girls. Lets keep the momentum going.
