Cirencester 2’s v Lansdown 3’s [Lansdown won 2-1]

Following last weeks win over joint leaders Shipton Oliffe 1-0, Lansdown 3’s continued their unbeaten record on Saturday by narrowly beating joint 2nd placed side Cirencester. Lansdown started well, keeping possession and putting Cirencester under pressure from the start, however, numerous chances failed to find the back of the net. Hannah Milson put a chance wide in the first five minutes. Further efforts from Jane Tilley and Tash Box were kept out by the Cirencester goal keeper. Eventually Cirencester took the lead in the first half from a well taken short corner against the run of play.

Lansdown fought back and were rewarded on the stroke of half time when Jane Tilley fired a shot past the keeper. Although determined not to concede another goal Lansdown continued to attack after the break and took advantage of a short corner, Elaine Higgins followed up the initial shot to give Lansdown all three points. Angela Varley won man of the match, again!

Thanks,

SAMAS
