For both the Juniors and Seniors there will be a raffle during the afternoon so bring some pennies with you to buy your tickets. The afternoon itself is free of charge to all members and any new players.

**In the evening come along to the Jolly Brewmaster for a BBQ – 7pm-7.30pm arrival. £5 per person. Places can be booked with Rob at nuggbert@hotmail.com. (anyone over 14 years old is welcome)**

LHC Pre-season Meeting-Tuesday 8th September at 7pm

The Pre-Season Meeting will take place in the classroom immediately on the right when you walk in the entrance of Bournside Sports Centre. This will be before the first winter season training session takes place. There will be a few items on the agenda but the main one will be the membership subscriptions for the coming season. Please look at the proposal, being put forward by the committee, below. This will be voted on by those that attend so if you would like to have your say please come along…..

Membership Subscriptions 2009/10

£70 Membership Sub across the board – Adult/Part-time/Student/Junior(U16)

£10 Match Fee – Adult/Student/Part-time/Life/Social

£5 Student Match Fee

£2 Junior Match Fee

Family Subscription – 1 or more Paying Adult Member with 2 or more children = 2^nd child free

Qualified Umpires – To be paid a fee of £5 per match

SHOCKINGLY GOOD NEWS ON MEMBERSHIP SUBS!!!!

Just thought that I would let all existing and prospective members know that there are moves afoot to dramatically decrease our Membership Subscriptions for the coming season!!! I, for one, will be very enthusiastic about this as I am sure many of you will be??!!

The vote on exactly how much the subs will be will happen at the Pre-Season Meeting so you will need to come along to have your say and ensure that we are doing the right thing for you as a member of this club (date for the PSM to follow)

This is such good news and will help us all in these ‘economic’ times.

Summer League – Men’s and Ladies

There are still Men’s and Ladies Summer League Matches going on every week. If you would like to join in or just come along and support let us know.

We are also still in the INDOOR Tournament at Bentham on Wednesday nights and would like some more girlies to come and join in. It is a very friendly, laid-back affair and a very good way to have a first experience of Indoor Hockey. Come and have a go….

Gloucester 6-a-side Tournament

SUNDAY 26th JULY

We have entered 2 Ladies sides and 1 Men’s side into the tournament this year and are very much looking forward to the day.

If you would like to come along and support us it starts at 9am(early;o) at Plock Court and how well we do will depend on how long we are there!

I will let you all know next week how we got on….

2009/10 WINTER TRAINING

The 2009/10 season is nearly upon us! With this in mind I would like you to put TUESDAY 8th SEPTEMBER in your diaries as the first evening at Bournside School for our Winter Training…. (hopefully it won’t quite feel like winter at this point!)

At the August Committee Meeting the structure for the training sessions will be being put into place. There are many items to be discussed around this issue and we will ensure that we take all aspects into consideration to come up with the best solutions that we can. With this in mind if you would like put forward any positive solutions to any problems that you feel lie with the training structure could you please email me on lhchockey@live.co.uk before Tuesday 4th August so that I can take these to the table.

I will be posting the training structure here on the website after the meeting.

Club Day this season will take place on SATURDAY 5TH SEPTEMBER. The Committee and Captains are in the process of arranging the format of the day which will take place at Bournside School.

Please put this date in your diary to come along to support the club or if you are looking for a club to join this is an ideal day to get to come and see what LHC is all about….
