Lansdown played their first away game of the season against Cardiff Medics. The game started well for Lansdown when Si Trower continued his impressive goal scoring form, when he scored after some good work by James Davies and Jack Harbour. Cardiff Medics responded well and started to control territory and possession. Stand in skipper Steve Vickery could and probably should have conceded a penalty flick when he miss timed a challenge on a Medics forward who was clean through on goal. However fortunately for Lansdown the umpire awarded a short corner. The workrate of the Medics side made it hard for Lansdown to settle and play the passing hockey that has been the catalyst of the improved hockey played this season. The second half started with the Medics continuing to have the better of the game. However Lansdown did start to come back into the game with Andy Buckmaster and Jack Harbour both having efforts saved by the Medics goalkeeper. With five minutes remaining in the game the Lansdown defence led by the excellent Darren Ashenhurst was finally broken down when a Medics forward scored with a clever deflection. Although the Medics clearly had the better of the game the commitment and work rate shown by the Lansdown side ensured that the game finished with a hard fought point well earned.
